Shadows at the End of Day
There’ll come a day when your phone will cease to ring,
No more beeps, no more buzzes, just silence it will bring.
Upon that day, the sea will call to me,
In its depths, my heart, silent, will cease to be.
I linger over your last message, a year gone by,
„Hate you,” it read, a painful, echoing cry.
Yet, I couldn’t stop reaching out, trying to find,
In myself, the hatred, the torment, intertwined.
Now I drift towards the stars, pale and bright,
Hoping to see your face, in the cold, celestial light.
My body numbs, my will fades, into the night,
As my soul lifts, towards the endless flight.
Here, in the dark, where day fades to night,
No sunrise, no sunset, just endless plight.
No ancestors call, no gods to set right,
Just me, in the twilight, embracing the night.
